Montgomery City Public Library

Attendance: President Patti Pazdera, Vice President and Acting Secretary Theo Tate, Treasurer Jim Guffie, Library Director Gaylee Harris, Members Jamie Bukovac, Jenny Cox, Pat Garrett, Molly Taylor, and Anna Powell.

The Montgomery City Public Library Board of Trustees meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m., November 13 by President Patti Pazdera. The agenda was approved. The consent agenda was approved.

The board training was a mini field trip in which the director and board members got to see some changes at the library that included new Dewey Decimal shelf dividers in the adult and children’s sections.

Gaylee Harris presented the Library Director’s report.

There were no communications from Board Members.

The Bylaws & Policy Committee is scheduled to meet at 1 p.m. on Jan.13 at the library.

The Grant Committee is scheduled to meet at 9 a.m. on Jan. 23 at the library.

Anna Powell presented the Friends of the Library report. 

In old business, excess funds will be used to purchase Chromebooks, tables and chairs, and two water fountains. Pat made the motion to have the funds to be used to purchase those items. Jamie seconded. The board approved.

In new business, a special committee for the updated kitchen and Creation Station project was formed. Pat, Jenny, and Jamie are part of the committee. The committee will be revisited in old business in the next meeting in February.

There were no Patron Comments.

Jenny moved to adjourn the regular meeting at 7:53 p.m. Molly seconded. The board approved. The meeting was adjourned. The next meeting is scheduled for Feb. 12, 2025.
