Montgomery City Public Library

Attendance: President Patti Pazdera, Vice President Theo Tate, Secretary Angel Davis, Treasurer Jim Guffie, Library Director Gaylee Harris, Members Jamie Bukovac, Jenny Cox, Mark Clements, Pat Garrett, and Molly Taylor.

The Montgomery City Public Library Board of Trustees meeting was called to order at 7:02 p.m., July 10 by President Patti Pazdera. The agenda was approved. The consent agenda was approved.

Patti Pazdera presented updates to the Shared Google Drive for Board Training. She also noted we would be working towards having paperless meetings with all documentation in the Shared Google Drive.

Gaylee Harris presented the Library Director’s report.

Theo Tate presented highlights from the ALA Conference he attended in June.

New Committee assignments for the 2023-2025 term were determined. Patti Pazdera presented a Committee Meeting Rubric.

The Technology Committee will meet July 29 at 1 p.m.

Gaylee Harris presented the Friends of the Library report. The Friends will be holding the Kids & YA Book Sale on August 17. They will also help host tables at Teacher Meet & Greet.. 

In Unfinished Business, Carol Harness presented Erik Schettig’s abstract for the International STEM Conference. Patti Pazdera moved to accept the abstract. The motion was seconded and approved.

Gaylee Harris gave an update on the security camera installation.

There was no additional discussion on the Library Standards.

In New Business, a proposal for database access from the new MCR-II High School Librarian was discussed. The board requested Gaylee to find additional information.

The State Aid paperwork was presented for the treasurer’s signature.

There were no Patron Comments.

There was no Executive Session.

Jenny Cox moved to adjourn the regular meeting at 8:33 p.m.
