Have you checked out our www.mcplmo.com website lately?  There’s more to it than meets the eye!  The Montgomery City Public Library’s website offers countless resources for online research and developing skills.

Under Library Resources, click on the Online Resources tab.  A-Z Databases is a list of all the databases on the website sorted alphabetically.

The Digital Collections list includes Boundless, Missouri Libraries to Go/Libby, Blackstone Unlimited, and Ebsco E-books, which require a library card for access. Ebsco E-books has over 10,500 fiction and non-fiction eBooks for adults and youth on a wide range of subjects. The collection also features a selection of Teacher Resources to support educators and administrators.

Other digital collection sites that do not require a library card are Bloom Library, the Library of Congress Digital Collection, and Missouri Digital Heritage.  Bloom Library has free downloadable books in 488 languages like talking books, comics, and books with activities. The Library of Congress Digital Collection has digitized collections of historical newspapers, photos, maps, books, and many more types of media. It also includes diverse collections of presidential papers, music history, and webpage archives.  The Missouri Digital Heritage has a collaborative collection of information about Missouri history online from the Missouri State Archives, the Missouri State Library, and institutions across the state. Its provided curricula enable educators and students to develop a greater appreciation for the rich heritage of Missouri.

Fantastic Fiction has a wealth of information about books, series, and authors. What's next in the series? Does your favorite author have a new book out? What should you read next? Fantastic Fiction can help answer these questions and more.

Digital Skills lists two websites that help with digital literacy.  Digital Literacy empowers learners with digital citizenship skills to navigate today’s virtual landscape. Interactive activities guide students through project-based learning activities using digital tools to create podcasts, multimedia presentations, social media campaigns, and more. Database articles explore cyberbullying, digital research skills, citizen journalism, and more.  Missouri Digital Equity has resources about technology, how to be safe and secure with it, and understanding how to evaluate information found online. Included are free resources widely available on the Internet and subscription-only databases available through your local library. This site was developed in partnership between the Missouri Research and Education Network (MOREnet) and the Missouri State Library.

Under Government and Legal, you can find Vet Now.  VetNow offers live online assistance for veterans and their families. Connect with a live navigator to get help determining your VA benefits, translating your resume for civilian jobs, building academic skills, and so much more! This does require a library card for access.  Other free government and legal resources are also available.
